Back to School with a Bang!
🌍 Our Big Bangs: Sparking Imaginations and Inspiring Learning! 🌍
At Caythorpe Primary School, our Big Bangs are special activities designed to inspire curiosity, spark imaginations and make learning memorable for our children.
Every topic begins with an enquiry question, encouraging our pupils to explore, investigate and discover the world around them. Through exciting experiences, we nurture their hearts and inspire their minds, helping them to make meaningful connections and develop a love of learning.
Here’s a look at how Neverland and Narnia have launched their new Geography learning!
🌍 Neverland’s Big Bang! 🌍
Neverland have had a lovely afternoon on their first day back! To kick-start their Geography learning, they headed out for a walk around the village to explore the features of our local area.
They spotted the church, school, shop and pubs, and even had time to enjoy a play at the park! 🌳
We loved hearing the children’s observations along the way:
🗣️ Cedric: “That’s the doctors where you go if you are poorly.”
🗣️ Joe: “This is great – I love the park!”
A fantastic way to finish a brilliant first day back!
🌍 Narnia’s Big Bang! 🌍
This half term, Narnia Class have launched their Geography enquiry:
“How is the land used in Caythorpe, now and in the past?”
As part of their project, the children took a walk around Caythorpe, observing how the village has changed over time. They discussed how Caythorpe has developed from having fewer houses and more farmland to having more houses and less farmland.
The children also explored three maps of Caythorpe from different time periods, comparing them to identify similarities and differences. They looked closely at changes to housing, farmland, roads and other features of the village.
To finish their first day of learning, Narnia enjoyed a visit to the park with their friends in Neverland.
What a brilliant way to launch their new Geography learning!
Nurture hearts and inspire minds! 🐝
