🌲 Camp Redwood Residential Adventure β›Ί

Our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils had a fantastic time on their residential visit to Camp Redwood. As soon as they arrived, the first challenge was setting up camp and getting their tents organised. The children worked brilliantly together and were later commended by the camp leaders for keeping their tents so tidy throughout the visit. ⭐

The adventure began with a series of team-building challenges, including crossing “lava”, group stomping activities and transporting a ball without touching it. These activities encouraged teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills, and the children rose to every challenge.

One of the highlights of the trip was den building. The children worked in teams to create shelters using natural materials before the camp leader put them to the test to see if they were truly rainproof!

Camp Redwood also gave our pupils the opportunity to be the very first group to trial a new activity – Hammer Art! Using natural dyes from plants and flowers, the children created beautiful patterns on linen. They also enjoyed woodland art activities and learned the important skill of fire lighting.

For those looking for an extra challenge, axe throwing proved very popular. The children showed great focus and determination as they aimed both large tomahawk axes and smaller angel axes at the targets. Anyone lucky enough to get an axe firmly embedded in the target earned a special target photo! We are pleased to report that several children achieved this feat… although none of the staff managed it! πŸ˜‚

As evening arrived, everyone gathered around the campfire to enjoy toasted marshmallows and share stories from the day. There was certainly plenty of excitement before bedtime!

The children represented our school brilliantly throughout the residential, demonstrating resilience, teamwork, independence and a positive attitude. We are incredibly proud of them all and hope they will treasure these wonderful memories from Camp Redwood for years to come.
