Well-being Afternoon

Well-being Afternoon

This week, pupils across the school enjoyed a special Well-Being Afternoon organised by our well-being ambassadors. Children took part in a variety of activities designed to promote physical health, emotional well-being and positive social connections.

Enchanted Forest

The children in Enchanted Forest spent time discussing what well-being means to them and sharing the activities that help them feel happy, calm and relaxed.

Some of their thoughtful responses included:

“I like to colour. It makes me feel calm.” – Connie

“I like to play with the dinosaurs, that helps me.” – Leo C

“I like to help my mummy in the allotment. I like the smell of the flowers.” – Sienna

“I like Cosmic Kids.” – Taine

The children then enjoyed a range of mindful activities, including colouring whilst listening to calming music, taking part in Cosmic Kids yoga and meditation, exploring the dinosaurs and helping in the garden by caring for the plants and vegetables we are growing. It was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, relax and appreciate the outdoors.

Narnia Class

Narnia Class had a fantastic afternoon focusing on staying active and spending quality time with friends. The children enthusiastically joined in with Joe Wicks exercise videos, getting everyone moving, smiling and full of energy.

Following their workout, the class enjoyed a selection of board games together. These activities provided valuable opportunities to develop teamwork, communication and turn-taking skills while having lots of fun. The afternoon was filled with laughter, collaboration and positive interactions.

Neverland Class

The children in Neverland Class enjoyed taking part in a live Joe Wicks workout, embracing the challenge and discovering the benefits of exercise for both physical and mental well-being.

They also took part in a variety of games and activities that encouraged teamwork, cooperation and self-regulation. Through these experiences, the children explored different ways of looking after their well-being and learned strategies to help manage their emotions and build positive relationships with others.

A huge thank you and well done to our Well-being ambassadors for creating our Well-Being Afternoon. It was a wonderful opportunity for pupils across the school to reflect on the importance of looking after both their physical and mental health. Whether through exercise, mindfulness, outdoor learning or spending time with friends, the children demonstrated that there are many different ways to support our well-being and help us feel our best.
