π¦£Big Bang Day: A Journey into the Stone Age!πͺ¨
What an exciting start to our new topic! The children at Caythorpe Primary School became prehistoric explorers for the day as they immersed themselves in a fantastic Stone Age experience, bringing history to life through hands-on activities, investigation and drama.
Our Big Bang Day was packed with opportunities to explore how people lived in prehistoric Britain and to develop our historical knowledge and understanding.
The children discovered what made a successful Stone Age hunter and had the opportunity to handle replica Stone Age tools, learning how these were used in everyday life. They also explored what people would and would not have eaten during prehistoric times (although there was no food tasting involved!).
Our young historians put their detective skills to the test as they investigated mystery artefacts, making thoughtful observations and using clues to work out what the objects might have been used for.
The excitement continued as the children took part in a dramatic role-play performance of the Epic of Gilgamesh, bringing this ancient story to life through imagination, creativity and teamwork.
It was a wonderful day of curiosity, discovery and learning, and the perfect way to launch our new topic. We are looking forward to finding out more about life in the Stone Age as our learning journey continues!
