🏹 Viking Workshop: Vikings Raid the School!⚔️

As part of Narnia Class’s topic, “Were the Vikings ruthless raiders or tactful traders?”, the children took part in an action-packed Viking Workshop led by Wolfric, who returned to Caythorpe Primary School to bring history to life! The day began with the children climbing aboard their Viking longboats to set sail across the treacherous North Sea on a mission to raid Lindisfarne. But their journey was not without peril—ferocious storms, fearsome whales, and broken ships forced many to retreat back to their homelands.
Back on dry land, the children explored a range of Viking weapons and learned about how these fearsome warriors invaded the British Isles. They handled replica artefacts and took part in lively discussions about Viking life, raids, and trades.
The children are bursting with enthusiasm and full of questions as they continue to investigate whether the Vikings truly were ruthless raiders or in fact tactful traders. They’ve also produced some incredibly detailed recounts of the day—be sure to ask them what they learned!
