MFL – French

Learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other cultures. At Caythorpe Primary School we teach French as this is the language the secondary schools children move onto teach.

Music

Musical teaching and learning is not neat or linear. Over time, children develop new musical skills and concepts, and re-visit established musical skills and concepts. Repeating a musical skill doesn’t necessarily mean their progress is slowing down or their development is moving backwards!

PE

We are proud of our third School Games Platinum Award. The school also received the runner up award in the Active Lincolnshire Sports and Physical Activity Awards as Most Active Primary School in 2022. Our Sports Ambassadors were also awarded “Sports Crew of the Year” from the Sleaford District.

PSHE and Relationships

Personal, social and health education enables children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society. 

We teach RSE to pupils from the age of four onwards, although primary-aged children will be taught relationships education only.

RE

Caythorpe Primary School promotes respect and tolerance. Children are introduced to six religious traditions (Christianity, Hinduism, Buddihsm, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism) in the course of their time at the school, and great care is taken to ensure that all beliefs are valued.
